I have been working at O.C. Tanner (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have been fortunate to spend most of my career at O.C. Tanner! Simply put, be patient, work hard, view each day and project as an opportunity, and the company takes great care of you. The people I work with, the leadership team, the compensation and benefits are very fair and in some cases unheard of at other companies. Being a Best Places to Work company, there are ongoing efforts to create an even better work environment for everyone.

    Cons

There was a day I would have said the company is too conservative, too stodgy, and too “local-belief” driven. In fact, early in my career, I felt there were times this was a disadvantage to me. Some may still position the Company in that light, however it truly has changed. Quite frankly, because of the shift in culture, I plan to continue my career at O.C. Tanner. Other cons? The onsite cafeteria is just too good, just ask my waistline. Another con which is short term, the construction noise. However, the construction once completed only makes it a better place to work.

    Advice to Management

With the drive for continued growth, continue being a company that is also focused on the employees. There are several reviews that state this isn’t the case and frankly, those reviews just don’t deserve the credit they sometimes receive. Hopefully others reading those reviews see them for what they are…one-offs from those who most likely won’t find a place that will ever be satisfactory. In every meeting I attend, decisions are weighed against the impact on employees. Only advice is for the leadership team to never lose that vision.
