I have been working at OAKLEAF Waste Management full-time (Less than a year)
- Great benefits
- Fun, relaxed work environment
- Supportive management
- Many opportunities to help with volunteering / community service intiatives
- Green company
- The Windsor office is pretty small and has several small, specialized teams. Limited growth opportunities within this office.
- Many different teams doing specialized tasks with little communication can lead to big issues when working on clients.
Advice to Management
Work more with employees on growth and development and get to know your team a little better. Focus on eliminating data silos and have all systems integrated.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at OAKLEAF Waste Management in April 2012.
Applied online, heard nothing for two months. Then out of the blue received an email from an HR person. After confirming information in my online application, spoke to another HR person. After about two weeks, finally had the interview with someone in operations. Very general, generic questions. For example, "tell me about a time when you faced a challenge?" "How do you do in team environments?" Etc. After what I thought was a good interview, I never heard back - anything. I tried contacting the multiple HR contacts, but they simply replied "we have not received any feedback from your interviewer." What never officially denied the position. Moral of the story, WM has a very formulaic and bureaucratic hiring process (if my experience is typical).
