OYO – Why Work With Us?

OYO is the fastest-growing and third-largest hotel chain in the world. Globally, we are

known for renovating and rebranding existing properties. We transform lowly occupied

properties into chic, modern spaces with 70% - 85% occupancy rates.

OYO was founded in India in 2013 by 18-year-old, Ritesh Agarwal. Ritesh presented the

OYO brand and business model to the founder of Paypay, Peter Thiel. Theil loved the

idea and invested $100,000, jumpstarting Ritesh’s dream of building the number one

hotel chain in the world.

Ritesh took that investment and turned it into success. OYO’s portfolio combines fully

operated real estate comprising more than 23,000 hotels and 125,000 vacation homes.

OYO along with Vacation Homes categories managed by the company, can be found in

more than 800 cities in 80 countries, including the U.S., Europe, U.K., India, Malaysia,

Middle East, Indonesia, Philippines, and Japan.

by a strong team of more than 350+ OYOpreneurs

● Opening 1 building per day on average

● Present in popular cities across the United States, including Dallas, Houston,

Augusta, Atlanta and Miami

● Promises to soon expand its presence to cities like New York, Los Angeles and

and in less than 30 days, has over 41 live properties in the city.

OYO is using cutting-edge technology and top industry professionals to grow the US

market and find new opportunities for expansion. Currently, we are investing in cloud

kitchens, co-workspaces, extended stay residences, and multi-million dollar hotel

projects.

OYO entered the US in January 2019 and now operates over 170+ hotels in 17 states.

We are growing quickly, moving into new markets and new ventures. If you want to join

a team that’s disrupting an old industry, building for the future, with a culture

spearheaded by youth, then OYO has a place for you.

At OYO, our goal is to have people all over the world “Living The Good Life” and we

pass down that same sentiment to our employees.

● Casual Dress Code: Tie or T-Shirt, you choose! But not together cause that’s

tacky.

● Flexible Work Schedule: 9-5 is a thing of the past. But if that’s what you like, then

you do you.

● Medical, Dental, Vision: OYO covers part or all of the big 3 benefits.

● Snacks, Snacks, Snacks: Our kitchen is stocked with items to munch on. Some

healthy. Some not.

● Open Work Space: Don’t feel tied to your desk.

OYO culture is built upon diversity, intelligence, and excitement. We believe that hard

work truly does pay off, and those who show their value are rewarded. No position has

a set plan for trajectory. Promotions have happened as fast as four months, and roles

are often adapted to fit employee strengths.

But while we’re growing, we’re also learning. We want to be a company employees

enjoy working for. We look forward to receiving feedback from our employees and

constantly improving our culture.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at OYO.

    Interview

Had 3 rounds: One with HR, and 2 with senior ops managers. HR round was mainly profile screening while the other 2 interviews were more behavioral/ situation based. The main idea is to know OYO's growth story and business model well and show high sense of ownership.

    • 1. Why are you leaving your current job 2. What are the challenges you foresee on ground at OYO .. a few other other situation based questions on team management   5 Answers
