I worked at Oakland Raiders part-time (More than 3 years)
-Great culture. Entry level positions were treated equally in the breakrooms. Spent many lunches with my Senior VP. Organization very big on "family" aspect.
-Lots of work with other departments. Constantly learning about other fields of work and can openly learn about the new fields of interest.
-Spoiled by organization. Constantly gifted with team sportswear and memorabilia as a reminder that we are appreciated.
-Lots of room for growth. They prefer to higher within.
-Politics for higher level positions (as is the case of any company)
-Difficult to manage the hours of an organization who thrives on hosting events on nights and weekends.
Advice to Management
More support with work/life balance or at least support with energy management. Check in with team to prevent burn-outs.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Oakland Raiders (Alameda, CA) in August 2011.
There were only 2 interviews, phone and face to face. The phone interview was with Human Resources and they just wanted to figure out my background and why I wanted to pursue the position at the Raiders. The face to face interview was more about the the Raiders such as a more detailed description of the position and if you think you would be able to handle the situations that arise from this position. Afterward, an acceptance or rejection email was sent a couple days later.
