I worked at Obayashi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Worked outside
    Exciting job
Finally fired incompetent leadership after project

    Cons

    Safety was an after thought
    Long hours
Lazy, entitled leadership (has since been fired and replaced)
Office engineers kept meddling with field engineers, created a very "us-vs-you" attitude.
I hear these issues have been resolved with the firing of leadership

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Obayashi (Burlingame, CA) in April 2013.

    Interview

Craigslist posting. Was called for an interview. A panel of 3. Lots of basic interview questions about engineering, estimating and/or construction experience. About 3 days later they called me telling me I was being offered a job. And about a week later they mailed a job offer to my house.

    Negotiation

Negotiated against other offers. Obayashi gave the best offer at the end of the day.
