I worked at Occidental Vacation Club full-time (More than 5 years)
Working at Occidental has its advantages. They have a decent reputation for treatment of staff and since they try to make sure that guests are happy at their hotels, the staff generally has a good time too.
Not a great work-life balance. Long hours and dealing with a company bureaucracy that can be maddening at times. Very poor HR department that tends to err on the side of corporate rather than hire top talent. Very limited ability to move up due to old boys' club mentality. Not a great place to work if you are a woman.
Advice to Management
Invest in SHRM in order to compete with a 21st century market. If you want to be a 4 Star timeshare company, that's fine, but don't act like you're 5 Star to your guests but 3 Star to your staff.
