Celebrity strategy begins with WHY, HOW and WHEN, then WHO. We start by defining/prioritizing program objectives, understanding brand attributes and determining the tactics of the program. We then discuss celebrity value vs. budget while identifying an initial talent list. We conduct research, competitive analysis and do our due diligence on talent candidates to make sure we are using the best person for any given program. Once we have selected the ideal talent for a program, we will negotiate on behalf of the brand in order to receive the best deal possible while including all necessary service items. For the past two years, Octagon has been the recipient of IPG’s Inclusion Award for our Communication and Education programming. Octagon’s Events & Experiences Division creates and produces sustainable events that merge sports, entertainment, culinary and arts with philanthropy in markets that recognize the importance of cultural enhancements in the development of the quality of life in its community.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Octagon (Grand Rapids, MI) in March 2015.
I was emailing back and forth with the core members of the staff. I was then brought into the office to discuss the role with the team. I was then offered the position.
I was able to get an interview through someone at my company who knew the tournament staff.
There was no negotiation. The wage was predetermined by their corporate office.
