I have been working at Olathe Health part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Olathe Medical Center/Olathe Health reached out to me and sent me a card to their open house for CNAs and gave me a chance to talk to the RNs on different floors and get a feel for what each unit has to offer. The online application was easy and very user friendly. Call back time was incredibly quick and I was notified within three days. Staff has been incredibly helpful, whether it's helping an individual locate where they need to go, training new hires, or caring for their customers. Hours are flexible as I am a PRN and every employee can requests shifts if they need more hours without feeling like they absolutely have to.

    Cons

There aren't many cons when it comes to working at Olathe Medical Center/Olathe Health. The orientation period for patient care techs involves a day of computer heavy learning that makes learning the online charting system seem rather overwhelming at first but once you reach your home unit, you will be taught the more intricate side of the system and it become less overwhelming. Outside of that minor issue my time as an Olathe Health employee has been a great experience.

    Advice to Management

The initial introduction to the online charting system seemed a little overwhelming to me at first since it was my first job in the healthcare field. If a little more time could be budgeted into the orientation week to learning the charting system and perhaps running through multiple common scenarios I believe that others who follow me in the same position will not be afraid of committing an error and will be more confident in their abilities and understanding when being taught the more intricate side of our system when they reach their floors.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Olathe Health (Olathe, KS) in June 2016.

    Interview

It was great! It went smooth. HR didn't draw it out! They were friendly and very uplifting! I love the company already! They care about the patients. They are very critical when it comes to doing the background checks. They check all references and previous employment. Great company. In training I was sitting with the CEO. He was warm and kind. He asked questions, He wasn't stuck up or snobby.
