I worked at Omaha Steaks part-time (Less than a year)
Always kept busy, received snacks during work, people seemed genuinely concerned about how the employees were.
Absolutely loved working emails because i could listen to my music and tune out all other noises and be able to work calmly.
Discount to employees
Friendly higher ups, and most staff polite and helpful
Everyone sits next to another at a desk with little privacy walls basically not cubicles making it hard to focus sometimes.
Too loud being so close together to hear customers very well especially during holiday seasons.
No work from home options which is sad because at times i have transportation issues.
The whole points system is terrible.
Advice to Management
1) make sure employees aren't rude to other employees.
2)point system-when its winter people get sick or have transportation problems or even emergencies. Your employees work hard for you they shouldn't get a point for being ill and not being able to come in or having emergencies. It's life things happen and sometimes the whole point system makes things harder.
3) Create a work from home program-this would help so many more people than you think, I have 10 people i know who would jump at this opportunity, myself included.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Omaha Steaks (Omaha, NE) in October 2017.
On a Wednesday I filled out an application online (in the omaha steaks parking lot) I went in 5 mins later to "follow up" They had me interview with Tyler almost immediately and I was hired within 30 minutes. He had me complete a background screening and sign papers with the human resource dept. And I started training the following Monday.
