    Greer's deep industry and technical expertise will lead Omnitracs in its next stage of growthOmnitracs, LLC, a global pioneer of fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, today announced the hiring of industry veteran Ray Greer as Chief Executive Officer. Greer takes over for John Graham who served as Omnitracs CEO since 2013.

• The acquisition of Roadnet Technologies in December 2013, introducing routing, scheduling, and mobile resource management software solutions to better support last mile delivery.
• The launch of Omnitracs XRS platform in November 2014, providing a variety of enterprise-grade fleet solutions to mobile devices, including smart phones, and tablets.
• The October 2015 launch of Omnitracs Navigation, which uses Big Data collected from more than 300,000 vehicles on the road daily, contributing to more than 100 billion data points per year.
• The introduction of Critical Event Video (CEV), a fully integrated in-cab video solution in August 2016.
• The partnership with Peloton Technology in February 2017 to assist in the development of platooning technology, which increases fuel efficiency and overall road safety.
• Partnerships with prominent technology partners in both hardware and software to further grow and improve product offerings.
• The acquisition of Shaw Tracking, Omnitracs’ exclusive Canadian distributor for 25 years, in 2017 to expand the company’s presence in Canada and better support cross-border operations.

    I have been working at Omnitracs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The new leadership is very customer-centric. A plan is in place and being executed to converge legacy technology to better serve the customer while becoming more efficient in responding to customer needs.

    Cons

    Historic silos exist but that issue is being address and will take time. There is a divide between those building the new technology and those supporting the legacy tech, though all are necessary for success. New agile approach being adopted to address this issue.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to execute against your plan, shift when needed and continue to communicate your vision with employees.

    I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Omnitracs in September 2017.

    Interview

    Three phone/skype interviews, two assessments, and one in-person interview. The assessments were pattern recognition, math, and other simple concepts. One was proctored over skype by an HR representative. All interviews were relaxed, professional, and friendly.
