Omron (OOM) took me from the bottom, worked with me, and allowed me to grow into areas I was interested in. Its really not hard to move up but it takes time and earning trust. Benefits are great and the pay was exceptional. If you're a production employee, expect a lot of hours when business is booming. If you're an office worker, look out for politics.
Getting advanced to new levels often means being buddies with management. Sometimes, over-achievers can be looked over for the people who cater to their managers in and out of work. Layoffs are mostly performed by seniority and not based on performance and duties.
Advice to Management
Don't let go of personnel that can fill multiple rolls and always perform above the rest. Sometimes a dollar goes further than expected.

I interviewed with the person who was to be my direct supervisor, 2 Human Resource peers, and the President of company. I also had to have a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
