OneBeacon is donating $200k to Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, while the additional $300k will support local efforts within those communities where our employees live and work. These contributions will go towards assisting organizations addressing people in need due to this pandemic.
Our Specialty Property team recently all met in Las Vegas, NV for their annual underwriting meeting to discuss 2019 accomplishments and 2020 planning. The meeting included presentations from regional underwriting teams and key business partners, while also engaging in discussions around industry trends.

This past summer, 20 interns gained hands on experience in the underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, HR and marketing fields. Great culture, where management will provide the tools and knowledge you need to succeed. Flat organizational structure and easy access to upper management which allows for better response times to brokers and less stress for me. I’m trusted and they respect me. Work life balance is really important.
They allow you to work from home but not as much as I would like to.
Advice to Management
Keep the organizational structure flat and continue to provide flexibility.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OneBeacon Insurance Group (New York, NY) in April 2020.
Took about a week after applying to schedule for a phone screen. Phone screen lasted about 45 minutes with a very nice woman. Asked me general questions about my experience. Thought I did pretty well and had a great answer for everything.
