At OST, we’re a bit like what you may call a machine, but with a more human touch. Day in and day out for the last 26 years we’ve been more than just a staffing company. Throughout this time we’ve built relationships, we’ve grown together internally and externally, and have created a system that allows us to personally cater to the needs of our clients and candidates. As we celebrate this occasion, it important to note that for us, 26 years is more than just a number or an anniversary. It is 26 years of relationships, 26 years of trust, and 26 years of total reliability. We’ve been a mentor for some, a team builder for others, but most importantly we’ve been there. We know there is no substitute for experience, so let us help you navigate through the ever changing web of talent.
Operating in a crowded marketplace, we have succeeded by staying ahead of the curve. No two projects are the same, and neither are our solutions. We’ve got the connections. We know the people. We have the opportunities. How soon can you start?
LETTER FROM THE CEO
At Open Systems Technologies, our mission is to connect clients with the top talent in their industries.
Since emerging as a leading supplier of technical engineers to the financial services sector on Wall Street in 1990, we have grown in size and revenue to become one of the largest privately owned staffing firms in the U.S. Through hard work and ingenuity we have been able to take our passion for technology and turn it into a thriving business.
We believe that hiring talented, hardworking employees is among the most important business decisions you will ever make. As a true partner, we pride ourselves on being able to consistently provide outstanding candidates to each and every business sector we serve.
For the last 26 years we have been more than just a staffing company. Our company culture is not only focused on serving our clients, but on our own employees as well. We believe that when we take care of our employees, they take care of our customers. Unlike other large staffing firms, we function as a well-oiled machine, but with a human touch.
We respect your time, appreciate your business, and look forward to helping you propel your company onward and upward with the right people.

I have been working at Open Systems Technologies full-time (Less than a year)
I started working for Open Systems about two months ago. I've worked for another recruiting firm for two years prior and I can honestly say that this place is a breath of fresh air for me for several reasons:
- Amazing coworkers and everyone is super helpful
- Working with top financial firms in the NYC area
- No skill set alignment; you get to work on anything and everything you want
- Brand new office space (start up environment)
- No 'micromanagement', instead you have leaders that will help motivate and teach you, not constantly breathing down your neck like most recruiting firms
- Great management. Owners are involved and really take the time to improve the place and its' people
The only con is that for people without any recruiting experience, there is not a solid training structure provided here. With that said- if you're not self-motivated and unwilling to go an extra mile to reach out and ask for help, this place is not for you.
Advice to Management
This place is certainly going in the right direction so keep up the good work!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Open Systems Technologies.
A recruiter reach out to me about a position they had available. We chatted on the phone for about half an hour and then she said she would try to get an in person interview scheduled. Went to their office and met a couple people in their conference room. It was a little bit of an awkward interview and everyone I spoke to asked me the same exact questions. They should have either just done a panel interview, or planned different questions to ask me. Overall, the questions were pretty basic and all about my last job. They told me they would reach out to me within the next business day but I never heard anything back from them.
The process for this position was supposed to be a phone screen and in person interview. After the in person interview, I would not have felt comfortable moving forward with them because there was just something strange about how they dodged my questions. I kept asking about their office culture and the only answer i would get is "I wear jeans to work every day". I'm not sure if it was just a mutual mismatch, but I walked out there feeling like I knew nothing about the company.
