Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Pros

The ENTIRE team really cares about what we're trying to do, and the kind of company we're trying to build. There are lots of opportunities to jump in and get experiences for your own development.

Cons

This is a great place but we've still got stuff to work on - just as everyone does. The company has grown really fast and probably needs to review processes/systems to align with our scale so far.

I applied online. I interviewed at OpenGov (Stoke-on-Trent, England) in May 2023

    Interview

Interview was mainly email communications going back and forth. I had an HHRR interview in which there were no technicall questions. All of a sudden they emailed me with this: Hello, Hope all is well. After careful consideration, we have decided not to move forward with your application at this time.
