Foreman Training

Osmose believes that in order to provide high-quality services, our Foremen must be thoroughly trained to perform job duties safely, correctly, and productively. Because of our commitment to employee development, all Osmose Foremen begin employment with a paid comprehensive training program that provides classroom and on-the-job field instruction conducted by a highly experienced and skilled Osmose Foreman. Foreman Trainees actively participate in the day-to-day work program with a typical field crew. The length of training depends upon the service and/or the individual. Training sites vary geographically.

Job Duties and Responsibilities IncludeResponsibilities for the Foreman role include hiring your own field crew and managing them at job sites.  Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Doing field work for utilities and telecommunications companies
  • Inspecting poles and lines at job sites; assessing project requirements
  • Directing crews to handle repairs or adjustments per company guidelines
  • Being deployed to storm areas / emergency response
  • Collecting field data and maintaining daily and weekly reports
  • Traveling weekly in-state and out-of-state depending on workload requirements
  • Adhering to safety guidelines and overseeing safety measures taken by field crew

Job Requirements

The successful Foreman must have the ability to hire, train, and supervise a field crew of 1-5 people.  You must also be disciplined, efficient, and organized.  Additionally:

  • Ability to handle extensive physical work on a daily basis; must be in good physical condition
  • Must be willing and able to travel in and out of state on a weekly basis - this role requires an individual who thrives working outdoors and being on the road on a regular basis
  • Committed to maintaining a safe work environment and upholding company safety policies
  • Ensuring company quality workmanship standards are met
  • Computer skills are required - ability to work with a GPS to located job sites / travel between job sites
  • Prior supervision experience is a plus.
  • Previous utility or telecommunications experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefit Packages

All Foreman Trainees receive paid classroom and on-the-job training.  Once promoted from the Training Program, Foremen enjoy full-time, year-round stable work at the rate of $23/hour.  Foremen also have the opportunity to work overtime / receive overtime pay as well as earn weekly production bonuses. If travel exceeds policy thresholds, Foremen are eligible for a weekly travel bonus of $100.
