Color Me Outreach! - Outreach Health Services

After 43 years, Outreach Health Services has decided to change its company logo. We did not make this decision lightly; all companies must adapt to stay relevant, to grow and prosper. When first considering a new Outreach logo, the color blue immediately came to mind. We chose blue because it symbolizes dependability and trust.

  • Caregivers do more than just “help around the house.” They put my own “caregiver” time with my grandparents to shame with everything they do for their clients!

So for the caregivers out there that don’t get the recognition that they should, countless families and I appreciate what you do for others. Not only is it selfless, it’s also heartwarming to know that there are people that care. Though you might not hear it as often as you should, your care for our families means everything to us.

Outreach Health Services – Why Work For Us?

The Comfort of Home... The Support You Need
When the activities of daily living become difficult due to age, disability, or medical conditions, Outreach Health Services provides the skilled care and support you need to stay comfortably in your own home.

Why Choose Home Care?

Most seniors would like to stay in the comfort and security of their own home as they age. They value the familiar surroundings, the nearby neighbors and family, and the cherished memories that make their house a home.

Sometimes health issues due to aging or medical conditions can make it difficult to manage our personal care and household upkeep. Outreach Health Services provides those essential services that make it possible to stay in your home longer, and receive the support and care you need.

Home Care Services from Outreach Health provides bathing, grooming, housekeeping, and other activities of daily living, as well skilled nursing and therapies.

You Control Your Care, We Handle the Rest
Medicaid and other plans now allow you more control over your care program. You determine your services and choose your caregivers, Outreach Health Services provides the financial management and reporting for you.

What is Self-Directed Care?

Self-Directed Services is a Medicaid option that provides for greater control and personal preference in the delivery of your services. With this option, you take responsibility to locate, hire, and train the persons who will provide your services. You also maintain control of the Medicaid budget and how those funds are allocated for your specific services.

However, along with the benefits of greater control, the specific financial and reporting requirements can be difficult to manage. That's where the Consumer-Directed Services division of Outreach Health Services can help. We provide the guidance, tools and financial reporting functions that can make this option a manageable reality.

Skilled Care for Special Needs Children
Outreach Health Services in the El Paso area provides home care and support for special needs children and their families. These services are often covered by State programs and some health insurance programs.

If you have a child with special health care needs...

Outreach Health Services Pediatric Care program may be able to help you.

We provide home health services for medically fragile children on a long-term or short-term basis, including skilled nursing and attendant care as ordered by a physician. Our goal is to provide superior care and support to children and their families, thereby maintaining children's health and preventing further hospitalizations. Working with families, we strive to help each child attain his or her maximum potential.

The Pediatric Care Program provides home care for children who:

  • are ventilator dependent
  • have tracheostomies
  • require I.V. therapy
  • require tube feedings
  • require any other skilled nursing or attendant care

 Personal Emergency Response Service

Assistance at the Touch of a Button With the Personal Emergency Response Services (Personal ERS) program offered by Outreach Health Services, if you or someone you care about needs help at home anytime, day or night, receiving assistance is as simple as pressing a button.

Peace of Mind with 24/7 Monitoring

Living independently, it's comforting to know that you are safe and secure in your own home and that help is always there when you need it.

Use of the Personal ERS has been shown to reduce anxiety, lessen the need and expense of in-home services, forestall entry into nursing homes or hospitals and allow for earlier release from the hospital.

OUR STORY

In 1975, we began with one employee and the goal of being sensitive and sympathetic to the needs of the elderly by providing quality home health services to the rural counties surrounding Dallas.

Today, we are a diverse, Mission-oriented, health services company with over 7,000 employees who touch the lives of thousands of families every day. In 2015, we are celebrating 40 years of providing the quality home health care we originally envisioned.

Outreach Health Services reflects the Christian faith of its owners and founders. Interested employees have opportunities for prayer, Bible study, and training. Upon request, company chaplains assist patients and employees through spiritual counsel and prayer. In addition, a portion of the company's profits are dedicated to ministry projects here and around the world.

Whether providing care directly for individuals or working in a field support office, your efforts will be helping someone have the option to remain in the comfort of their own home instead of a nursing home.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Outreach Health Services in April 2017.

    Interview

The interview started by asking about previous work history and skills. They emphasized asking about proficiency in Spanish and computer programs such as Microsoft. The interviewers were not very pleasent from the start and dressed somewhat casually compared to most other companies.
