I have been working at OxBlue full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had no idea who they were before I applied, but am I glad I tried anyway!

This company knows how to take care of its people and make them feel valued. I have never felt more human at a job than I do at OxBlue. Chandler and Bryan are both absolutely wonderful guys that have not let success get to their heads. I look forward to spending many years doing my best work for them!

If there is something I don’t know, I’m not rushed to just bandaid it or hand it off, I am encouraged to learn and complete it anyway and ask for help if I need it.

I have a weekly meeting with my boss (who happens to be the CTO) and that is a great way for us to touch base and share wants/concerns.

There are monthly company meetings where we hear the latest news, are praised for our accomplishments, are able to give shoutouts to our coworkers for helping us out, and get a catered lunch on top of that!

They recently started the OxBlue Foundation to help get more people into the STEM field and that is fantastic.

The culture is amazing here! My coworkers feel like a functional family. Interestingly enough, they didn’t throw out the red-flag phrase during the interview process, “we’re like a family here”, which usually indicates treatment will be terrible. Instead, they allowed it to grow organically and nurtured it. The way it SHOULD be done.

I am proud to call myself an Oxbluian!

Thank you to everyone at the company, you’re all fantastic and I’m happy to be part of this organization.

    Cons

I have none. It’s all so great.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OxBlue in October 2019.

    Interview

Was super excited about this company and it’s vision...and then the interview process started. First, HR was ill prepared for my phone screening asking questions that were clearly detailed on my resume ie “what process improvement background do you have?” With 80% of my background being in process improvement this was for sure cringeworthy. In addition to the lack of preparation, any sense of enthusiasm or energy was nonexistent. I understand it’s Friday but you shouldn’t show a little energy when interviewing a potential employee? After completion of phone screening I was told I would receive link to assessment. Did not receive until that following Monday. Was not made aware of my results until about a week after the assessment was taken and was only told that “I did not pass.” No more feedback other than that was a bit disturbing considering I have always done exception on these type of assessments. Overall, I don’t really think OxBlue was really interested in filing the role after all and if they were they definitely were not interested in paying the “up to amount” and maybe in the end that’s why my candidacy wasn’t taken seriously.
