    Pros

Learning organization. Smart, well-connected, and accomplished colleagues. Mission to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustices played out each and every day. -- Office was devised by a Team of Staff and Human Resources. Great coffee and a Relaxation Room to boot!

    Cons

Work can be done at home and work, which can become an easy bleed into your life. The work is so gratifying that you may not notice the incredible heights to which your position has grown. Keep it simple! Has to be the mantra to survive and thrive there. Wonderful colleagues pushing the card up the same hill for the eradication of human sufferings, so it's all worth it.

    Advice to Management

Lead with Compassion, Concurrently, Collaboratively -- with time to Celebrate small accomplishments in the midst of larger, more long-term goals.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Oxfam (New York, NY) in December 2016.

    Interview

I applied for the position online, and received a phone call within a week or so from an HR representative. After an initial phone screening, I was then invited for an interview via video call with a panel of 2 HR staff and the hiring manager for the position. Communication throughout the process was great, and the panel interview was straight-forward and relaxed. They mostly asked questions about my relevant experience and why I wanted to work with Oxfam.
