I worked at P. Schoenfeld Asset Management full-time (More than 5 years)
CEO is very involved, a genuinely nice human being, and cares about his people. Generous benefits. Small firm, so easy to know everyone and quite intimate. Good opportunities if your ambitions lie within the firm's remit.
Compensation is totally opaque (like at most hedge funds, I guess). One of the PMs makes things unnecessarily personal and can be vindictive. Specializes in certain kinds of investment, which can limit growth if you have other interests.
