I worked at PA National Guard full-time (More than 10 years)
Great Place to work. Still active Army but able to stay in one area for quite a while. Great benefits and camaraderie. Able to help you country and state.
Very much an old boy system (nepotism). You need to know someone in order to get promoted.
Advice to Management
Get rid of the nepotism and promote based on merit.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at PA National Guard (Annville, PA).
Many national guard units stationed at FTIG has temporary Active-duty orders (sometimes with BAH). These are dependent upon funding and can be quite volatile (especially at the current budget concerns). Some require certain a MOS, others do not. Openings for this positions seem only by word of mouth; but call units direct to inquire.
