I worked at PSP Investments full-time

    Pros

Large pool of capital, and growing aum. projected to hit C$200B in the next few years. Building an international presence. See exposure to a number of investment opportunities.

    Cons

Government roots show through. Huge bureaucratic organization, but few people that matter. The groups despise each other and don't work together. Some of the teams bid against each other in the same processes. If you have worked in larger markets internationally or in Toronto, the provincial mindsets and experience of the "local talent" can be off-putting.

    Advice to Management

New management said to improve processes, but has made it more bureaucratic. Pay people properly, but cut the fat.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at PSP Investments (Toronto, ON (Canada)) in January 2017.

    Interview

I was applying for summer intern position and contacted by HR for first round interview after submitting the application online. Postings were on the school career website. The first round was phone screening, and most questions were typical walk-through-your-resume questions. I didn't get back from the interviewer. The entire process was pretty fast.
