Leading innovative products, talented employees who can make a difference and are rewarded for it, a collaborative culture, an executive team that are all rowing in the same direction all make PTC a great place to work, especially if you pride yourself in making a difference and achieving great things. People are friendly, very smart, and want to make a difference. Friday social hours, employee resource groups, change-maker recognition, and stock grant to all employees demonstrate a focus on the importance of our people, who make everything possible.
PTC wants to drive positive change, and while the company emphasizes and rewards this, there are still pockets of resistance, which is probably to be expected in a 30-year old company. Some people have been at PTC so long, that while they have great historical, institutional knowledge, they don't have much perspective on how others outside are solving problems today.
Advice to Management
Continue to move fast to win in IoT and to complete the business model move to subscription. Recognize and reward the employees (at all levels) who are driving the transformation.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at PTC (Uniontown, PA) in December 2016.
Started with a phone screening to ask general programming knowledge. After that was successful, I was scheduled for a face to face interview two days later. During the interview I went through a series of programming/problem solving challenges, and then discussed more of the business side of things with an additional critical thinking challenge with a second interviewer, and then interviewed with a third person about the company and my background. Offered a position 2 hours after the face to face interview.
