PUMA Group – Why Work For Us?

When Rudolf Dassler named his company PUMA, he knew the speed and spirit of the cat would come to embody everything he loved about sports. Today, Dassler’s words continue to inspire and define our working culture: We are at our best when we work with SPEED & SPIRIT.

At PUMA, every day is a chance to unleash the work of our lives, supported by an environment that encourages us to

BE DRIVEN in our performance,

BE VIBRANT in our sporting legacy,

BE TOGETHER in our team spirit,

and BE YOU so that our individual talents and experiences are always brought to the table.

In the world of sports, discovering and developing talented athletes is the key to success. At PUMA, this philosophy holds for us as well.

Driven by an ambition to become the fastest brand in sports, our Human Resources effort is challenged every day to maintain a culture that supports the development and retention of our employees. And because culture doesn’t just happen, we’ve developed strong HR -programs and a wide range of benefits to unlock employee potential.

PEOPLE@PUMA empowers your personal development and opens new growth opportunities. LEARN@PUMA supports your urge to never stop learning with a wide range of training programs. And WELLBEING@PUMA keeps your work-life balance in check through flexible working set-ups and lots of sports and social activities.

The result? An empowering career experience, where the right talent is nurtured in the right PUMA way.

At PUMA, we develop fast products for the fastest athletes on the planet. And our Herzo Headquarters lies at the center of it all. Everything about our iconic office is built to inspire our
Speed & Spirit and we’re already in the process of constructing an even bigger home for us in 2018.

Every day, 1049 colleagues walk through our doors, ready to push sport and fashion forward. Here,
we design football jerseys and fan gear for Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and the Italian national
team. And if you’re lucky, you just might run into Usain Bolt or Oliver Giraud walking down the hall.
But what’s work without play? Our Headquarters is built around our sporting lifestyle, from on-site
soccer fields and basketball courts to a variety of indoor sports activities as well. Need some cool
PUMA gear? Just visit our Brand store, or recharge with tasty organic food and coffee.
At PUMA, it’s all about making sure we unleash the best work of our lives.

Herzogenaurach is a lovely town of 24,000 located in Bavaria, Germany. Herzo, as we call it, is of
course home to the fastest sports brand in the world, PUMA — but also a great place to live.
Anyone with a sporting mind-set will thrive here. Before and after work, the city starts to sweat with
basketball, swimming, tennis, golf, football clubs and awesome nature runs. It’s also wonderful for
families with many schools and day care options to choose from.
Locals will tell you that Herzo combines a cosy Franconian atmosphere with a global attitude and
dynamism. Above all, it’s a loveable and liveable city.

PUMA Brands

The PUMA Group owns the brands PUMA and Cobra Golf as well as the affiliate company Dobotex. These brands are closely interlinked with PUMA’s core business and will adapt and implement PUMA's new brand direction under the Forever Faster platform for their own strategies.

Cobra Golf

Cobra Golf, acquired in 2010, is fully integrated into the PUMA Group as COBRA PUMA GOLF. This has enabled PUMA to provide a complete range of golfing products to the consumer and to become an important player in the golf sector. As a result, COBRA PUMA GOLF has strengthened its position in the golf business demonstrating further momentum and growth. The primary focus remains the USA and Japan, as well as Korea, the UK and the Scandinavian region.

Dobotex

Dobotex, founded in 1979 and located in Den Bosch, Netherlands, develops, produces and distributes socks and bodywear for PUMA, as well as socks for well-known brand-name companies. The licensing business will be further expanded going forward to encompass other top international brands.

Who are we looking for?

At PUMA, we go fast, but like PUMA founder Rudolf Dassler says, speed is nothing, if we leave our PUMA spirit behind. That same SPEED & SPIRIT is what drives us today, and it’s what we look for in candidates looking to help us push sport and fashion forward.

Self-driven and passionate performers, who exhibit a knack for out of the box thinking, tend to do well here. But most of all, you need to be a team player.

With over 59 nationalities represented in our headquarters, we attract the best people from all over the globe, and are proud to have one of the strongest talent development programs around. So, if you want to accelerate your career in a dynamic and empowering work environment, show us your SPEED & SPIRIT, and blow us all away.

So you’ve made the decision to apply to PUMA. That’s great, we’re excited. A little advice?

Our founder, Rudolf Dassler, used to say, we all have the ability to go fast, but speed is nothing, if we leave our PUMA spirit behind.

That same SPEED & SPIRIT is what we look for in our candidates. To help us succeed at PUMA we also keep some simple values in mind to guide our daily work. They encourage us to BE DRIVEN in our performance, BE VIBRANT in our sporting legacy, BE TOGETHER in our team spirit, and BE YOU, so that our individual talents and experiences are always brought to the table.

Like we said, simple, but also highly motivating. Now you know a little more about us, we look forward to learning more about you.

When it comes to impressing us, we’re not a difficult bunch, but we are demanding.

Most successful candidates separate themselves by presenting a motivating personality and skillset with a clear perspective on their potential impact on PUMA. Here are some questions to think about when applying:

  • Why you? Convince us that you are the best fit for the position.
  • What makes you unique? Tell us how your personality makes you special.
  • Why PUMA? What makes us the best employer for you?
  • What do you think it takes to succeed at PUMA? What separates you from the pack?

Lastly, if you get invited to meet us, just remember that at PUMA, every day is casual Friday, so relax and leave suit and tie at home.

Applying for a job at PUMA is easy. Just go to our career page and apply online. Simply open your preferred job posting, click APPLY ONLINE and follow the steps for uploading your application. And remember, we are an international company, so English is our corporate language.

I have been working at PUMA Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will consistently be treated fairly at PUMA. Field management, HR partners, corporate partners are extremely helpful and easy to reach when needed. Goals and expectations are motivating because they are realistic and challenging. I truly do love coming to work everyday, and I do believe I have the greatest boss.

Pay is competitive. 401k matching. Great Insurance coverage. Awesome discount. Great product.

As a Store Manager I consistently work 40 hours per week. That is unheard of in the retail industry. Vacation time, paid holidays, sick time--I get a ton of time to spend with my family.

Our holiday season is joyful rather than stressful with plenty of help with preparation and enough coverage to be successful.

    Cons

I wouldn't really list anything as a con. I guess I have to fill this space though in order to submit a review.

    Advice to Management

Just know your field management is second to none. Thank those people every day because they do so much to keep us all motivated and supported. Continue to do what you do, treating us fairly with positive energy, and always listening to what input we have.
