Mission: To heal, comfort, and promote health in the communities we serve.
I have been working at Palomar Health part-time (More than 3 years)
Pay is good, union helps employees, very good HMO health plan through Sharp. Very good orientation for employees
We are understaffed most of the time and our workload keeps increasing. The chairs and workstations we chart at are very uncomfortable and many are broken
Advice to Management
Staffing needs to improve in postpartum soon or you are going to lose more nurses to other hospitals! We need to have a CNA and a secretary every shift or the workload isn't maneagable caring for 4 couplets most nights. We have too much teaching and breastfeeding help to give new moms and we also have many higher acuity patients that need hourly respirations and output, etc. It is impossible to check on each patient every hour with the workload we have!
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Palomar Health (San Diego, CA) in August 2017.
I applied online a month prior to the interview. Within a month, they notified me for an interview. The interview was in a MMI format. There were three performance based questions and three behavioral questions. Prior to the interview their was a workshop which I think was very helpful since they had a mock interview.
