I worked at Parrot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Cool products to sell
Great employees which create a friendly work environment
Office downtown San Francisco with easy access to Muni, buses and bart
Decent number of vacation days provided

    Cons

Products are launched too early at very random timing
Company sells in too many countries and can't provide a reliable support locally
Customer support is understaffed which doesn't provide the best customer experience
Very fragile top-management organization that evolves every 6 months which doesn't allow to build strong foundations in the subsidiary
Employees not paid at the market level
No career growth plan for employees
Tied to a French headquarters which slows down the decision-taking process drastically
Very low benefits for employees (rarely pays bonuses, no lunch provided)
Very fast and competitive market and company is too slow at upgrading and keeping up with innovation
HR onsite not knowledgeable about US labor laws and the market

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees, see what they need to feel better at work and work with them to find a common ground
Put customers at the heart of your strategy
Micromanaging isn't healthy for the subsidiary nor the HQs
Take the subsidiary''s feedback into consideration when building a worldwide strategy as it's your primary market
Provide more insights on company's strategy to employees

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Parrot in December 2013.

    Interview

Interview process was fine, just basic questions about how you would handle yourself in tough situations. Everyone was friendly and the questions were straightforward. Probably the least tense interview process and there was only one interview.

    Interview Questions

    • Basic questions, tell me a time when you had to deal with a tough situation and how did you handle it.   Answer Question
