Partnership HealthPlan of California – Why Work With Us?

Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC) is a non-profit community based health care organization that contracts with the State to administer Medi-Cal benefits through local care providers to ensure Medi-Cal recipients have access to high-quality comprehensive cost-effective health care. PHC provides quality health care to over 560,000 lives. Beginning in Solano County in 1994, PHC now provides services to 14 Northern California counties - Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Marin, Mendocino, Modoc, Napa, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Trinity and Yolo.

Here at Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC) our work touches the lives of California's most vulnerable populations - children, low-income, people with disability, and those with mental illnesses. Serving these populations is what motivates us each day (and lots of coffee).

We strive to become the most highly regarded health plan in California.  This vision helps us to ensure that our members receive the best available health care.

Achieving our vision can only be accomplished by retaining and recruiting a talented team. We place an emphasis on our team growing both professionally and personally. Our Training and Development team assists us in honing our professional skills with a variety of courses. And an excellent benefits package allows you to finally take up that hobby you have been trying to take up the last few years.

Maintaining a talented team means that we take a moment to recognize the valuable work of our team members (plus we like to eat). These moments of recognition include an annual employee recognition luncheon, department potlucks, impromptu birthday celebrations … did we mention we like to eat.

With four regional offices, there are many opportunities to join the PHC team. Click below to see what opportunities await you.

*Please no calls from recruiting or staffing agencies.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Partnership HealthPlan of California.

    Interview

Multiple interviews, Resume based questions, no commuting/ interview travel reimbursement.
The interview process was extremely long approx 6 weeks. A staffing agency was hired to recruit for this position. I had one 30 minute phone interview, then a 1 hour video panel interview, then a 1 hour 45 minute on site interview in the Fairfield office.
The Panel interviews were not difficult but disorganized, and everyone on the team seemed to have different requirements for what a good fit on this position would be.
They specifically called me to come in for a panel interview on site, even though I had made it clear that I don't have a car and going to Fairfield would be very difficult for me.

The HR was completely unresponsive to me or the staffing agency who contacted me regarding the online application. after 4 weeks of interviews, they did not respond for 2 weeks. When I called the PHC office I was sent to voice mails repeatedly. I only received a response when I followed up on any travel reimbursement they could provide since its California. Which was a unhelpful response.
