A privately owned carrier with over 20 service centers on the East Coast, Penn Tank Lines offers quality transport services in over twenty states. The family owned business is driven by hundreds of dedicated transportation professionals who are supported by strong family values, including company drivers and independent contractors who enjoy steady, year round work with dedicated customers.

Penn Tank Lines was founded in 1974 to provide a regional bulk petroleum transportation service by tractor trailer in the Middle Atlantic states. Originally providing service in the immediate Philadelphia area and surrounding suburbs, the company has experienced significant growth and is poised in strategic markets as a major Eastern U.S. petroleum and building materials transportation company.

We have some exciting news…Penn Tank Lines has recently acquired Stardust Transportation! Stardust has built its reputation over the span of 20 years as the leader in jet fuel and aviation gas hauling, providing impeccable service recognized by leaders in the industry. In business for 46 years, Penn Tank Lines has a longstanding history of petroleum hauling services to convenience stores, oil companies, petroleum marketers, commercial depots and hypermarkets, in addition to a growing flatbed division of transportation. This union of the two companies makes us a more diverse and adaptable provider. There are many efficiencies we can bring to this new version of our company, and more importantly, to our employees and contractors, we have new opportunities and the ability to grow. We want to thank our Lead Driver Trainer in Orlando for messaging us his unsolicited and very heart-warming story today: “22 years ago today I walked in the door of Penn Tank Lines to fill out paperwork. After filling the paperwork out Jim Cercy the terminal manager told me to jump in the truck with Jose P. for two loads of Shell gas from Tampa to Orlando, and so began my gas hauling career. Sometimes I wonder how many miles I've driven and gallons I’ve hauled. The first several years I was dedicated to Shell and had a Shell trailer with a yellow tractor. The only other time I've been dedicated to anything was when I had a Circle K trailer. Dedicated work with one company gets boring I don't want to do that anymore. So here's hoping for a safe, happy rest of my career with Penn Tank Lines - it's a great company to work for and the McSherry family are good people to work for”. Thanks, John!
