How did you choose Paycor?

I chose Paycor because I believe in the products and services we provide, and because I believe in the people I work with. I wanted to be here for the exciting growth and change that we’re experiencing.


MY PAYCOR STORY.

How did you get to where you are today?

I put in extra hours at my first job out of college (writer at a software company) to learn the field of instructional design. I surrounded myself with successful, talented people and tried to learn as much as I could from them. I learned to be a better listener, and accepted a lot of constructive criticism along the way.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I’ve been a runner and yogi my entire life, but I love doing anything that gets me active and outdoors. My husband and I are also renovating a 127-year-old Victorian.

What is your personal motto?

“Be in love with your life. Every minute of it.” – Jack Kerouac

What surprised you the most about Paycor?

Despite all of the amazing growth we’ve experienced over the past few years, the “family” atmosphere persists. People still treat each other with genuine compassion and are willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

What do you keep on your desk?

Souvenirs from the Flying Pig and other races I’ve run, props and equipment left over from video shoots and company events, lots of pictures, and kind notes from my team. It’s getting a little cluttered over here…

What’s your favorite Paycor memory?

My favorite Paycor memory is when we launched Salesforce.com to the Sales & Marketing team. We had a great team of associates from multiple departments, who worked incredibly hard for six months leading up to the launch. We hit our goal, launched on time, and have been moving full steam ahead ever since!


MY PAYCOR STORY

What surprised you the most about Paycor?

I was pleasantly surprised with the ability to make changes and get things done in a short amount of time. The company embraces fresh thinking and is willing to support new ideas.

Tell us a funny Paycor story.

During college basketball season, we had a bracket tournament of Paycor executives. Each round, Paycor associates would vote for an executive to advance to the next round. The two finalists ended up in a dunk tank in the parking lot where associates could buy tickets for a chance to dunk the execs (the money went to charity, of course). It was a lot of fun and definitely funny!

What do you keep on your desk? Pictures of my kids, a “Wedge” iPhone holder, a Margaritaville drink coaster, a glass sculpture I received as a gift from my first boss, a crazy marketing team picture from the “photo booth,” my Salesforce.com certification award, and a copy of the book Manufacturing Demand.

    Brief and cordial. Focused on what you can do and how you got yourself to the current point. Focused on goals personal and professional. The process took a little long but in the end was worth it. They put a lot of time into making sure that the individuals they hire are motivated and pitted for success but also fit with the company culture.
