PeaceHealth – Why Work For Us?

Our “Spirit of Health” promise is the embodiment of PeaceHealth.

Everything we do is in service to a higher purpose: to work with and help our neighbors live healthier, happier lives.

We take care of the needs of people, we don’t simply treat patients. We put people at the center, enabling them to be their best, and providing personalized, compassionate care when they are not. We make them feel welcome, comfortable, and safe. We are neighbors, caring for and loving one another, for the betterment of all.

Caring for those in our community is not new to PeaceHealth; it’s been in practice since the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace arrived in Fairhaven, Washington to serve the needs of the loggers, mill workers, fishermen and their families. They knew strong, healthy communities benefit individuals and society, and that social and economic factors can make some community members especially vulnerable. The Sisters believed they had a responsibility to care for them, and that ultimately, healthier communities enable all of us to rise to a better life.

This philosophy inspires us today and guides us toward the future.

PeaceHealth strives to inspire and develop our caregivers while creating healthier communities. Benefits play an important role in this and we work hard to make sure that our benefits reflect the needs and wants of our caregivers and their families.

We provide comprehensive healthcare coverage for caregivers and their eligible dependents. Plus we offer dental and vision coverage, wellness program, programs to manage chronic health conditions, access to employee assistance program, as well as alternative/flexible work schedules. Additionally, an overview of the benefits offered at PeaceHealth can be found via this link: 2016 Benefits Overview. If you have any questions regarding those benefits, please contact our Caregiver Resource Center at (855) 333-6947, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm (PST).

If you're looking for a career in health care that engages your mind as well as your heart, we encourage you to apply at PeaceHealth.

The Spirit of PeaceHealth

At the heart of our Mission, Values and Vision at PeaceHealth is responsibility — to our patients, their loved ones and our communities.

Our roots run deep in every community we serve. They do so because of our belief that our Mission, Values and Vision compel us to relentlessly pursue improving ways of providing the highest-quality compassionate health care services and care to our patients.

Our patients come to us seeking only the best in clinical services, technology and expertise, and only the most compassionate, caring people to provide that care. We aspire to always meet and exceed those expectations.

I have been working at PeaceHealth full-time (More than 5 years)

I have such nice coworkers and the people I work with in other departments are outstanding, too. Smart and caring, great combo. I have worked for previous companies that tolerated a hostile work environment and that is not the case here in our corporate office, in my opinion. We have work/life balance, and seems like corporate restructuring dust has settled. I feel optimistic about the company's future.

We have had a lot of leadership changes, particularly at the executive level, without a lot of explanation staff as to why. But I think this is pretty standard in the corporate world.

    Advice to Management

More transparency around company initiatives and changes would be welcome by the staff level.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at PeaceHealth (Longview, WA) in July 2016.

One on one interview with Office Manager for the particular department I applied for. Was called 1 hour after the interview to move forward with the hiring process. Took 1 week to hear from HR with official job offer. Then sent paperwork to fill out and fax, sent for drug screen and background test. Overall hiring process took about one month, was told that was very standard. Was fine for me and my situation, but can see how it may be negative for some.
