Last Monday members of the Peak team had the opportunity to meet with Horst Schulze, former President and COO of the Ritz Carlton hotel group.
At @PeakCampus one of our mindsets is "Be the Best" and that applies at every level in our organization. It's incredible to work for a company that strives to "Be the Best" but is also ambitious yet humble in its quest to "Learn from the best".
Horst's best business advice ever received: All you have to do at work is be a little better than everyone else. Be a little friendlier to your boss. Be five minutes early, stay five minutes late.

Open Letter to Current Associates, Former Associates and Potential Candidates,
Thank you, each of you, for your candid reviews of Peak Campus on Glassdoor.com. I am grateful to those of you with positive things to say. I strive daily to make Peak an employer of choice and foster a culture where people matter most. As I have said time and time again, we wouldn’t be where we are today without each associate around the country owning it, being the best, doing the right thing and providing industry leading customer service. I am honored to work alongside each of you every day.
I also value the feedback from those of you who came to this site to get an unpleasant experience off of your chest and those of you who provided constructive feedback for our Company. As I truly believe we are a “people business” and as humbling as it is to see negative feedback, we want you to know we heard you and we will continue to be an organization where “good just isn’t Peak enough”. We will continue to be an organization that invests in its people, provides world class training, and strives to make every associate’s experience at Peak world class.
If you are here and desire a career path in student housing then I encourage you to strongly consider an opportunity at Peak. As a national Company with an industry leading reputation, we look forward to the Company’s continued success. Should you join our Company, I am confident that where you are in your career today will only be the start of greater things to come.
Thanks for reading.
All the best,
Bob Clark, CEO
“People Matter Most” is our most important core value. Put quite simply, we are a people business, and our team is the single most important asset on our balance sheet. As such, we place great emphasis on hiring the right people, and then providing the training that our employees need to be the best at what they do. We celebrate success, recognize achievement, and ensure that everyone stays connected. And every decision we make for the company starts here.

At Peak Campus, it’s about more than student apartments. It’s about our passion for our people and their passion for you. It’s about creating value for our partners by providing a home where college life happens. At Peak Campus, Good Just Isn’t Peak Enough℠.
Our stellar national presence and people matter most culture gives us our team unparalleled opportunities to take their career to extraordinary places. Because our people set us apart from the competition. We are committed to provide best in class benefits and industry leading training and development.
Training and Development
We offer a variety of training programs to jumpstart an individual’s needs or accelerate their growth. Whether it includes working with an executive coach or being paired with a mentor, we invest in our own and encourage learning and growth so we can continue to internally promote a high number of associates every year.
We offer our employees the opportunity to give back to our communities through our philanthropic program, “Peak Cares.”
Whether it is volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House or reading to at risk children through “Everybody Wins,” Peak encourages employees to come together and participate in giving back to the communities in which they serve. Peak Cares offers a company-wide challenge that encourages our entire portfolio to provide charitable services towards local organizations. Throughout the year, various stories and pictures around the country are shared with our Peak Cares committee. One charitable organization is selected as Peak’s service partner of the year, and the property that volunteered with the organization is selected for the “Spirit of Service” award, which is presented at the Annual Leadership Conference. The properties also organize “Clean out for a Cause” during move-out and move-in so that residents can donate items to local organizations, as well as donation of toys to “Toys for Tots” during the holidays. In addition to volunteer opportunities, Peak offers fun activities for all of its employees for team building or to simply get a break from the office.

I have been working at Peak Campus full-time (More than 3 years)
Peak Campus is a great company. I love the culture, the policies, the people, and all of our properties! It's always a challenge.
I love being able to move to different properties in different states in different positions. I've been with the company for almost 5 years and I love each and every day I'm here!
The hardest part of the job is being able to juggle all of the hats you wear each day. Some days you might be at a housing fair and others you might be troubleshooting on the property or conducting your monthly file audits or prepping for a resident event. The key is prioritizing and staying organized. Ask for help if you need it!
I have had many different managers which has taught me to work WITH people - not against or FOR. I never felt like I was working for one single person, but instead TOWARDS a goal!
Work here if you love challenges, a great company culture, and a home office that actually cares when you have a problem.
The real money is in the bonuses - so lease up and you'll be golden.
I would have to say that sometimes things come home with you. For me at least, I struggle holding that work-life balance.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Peak Campus (Columbia, SC) in September 2017.
The interview process was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with all of the different people throughout it. I absolutely loved finding out about the company's culture and how much it related to the person I am in general.
