I worked at Pedernales Electric full-time (More than 10 years)
Was formerly a major top-notch, employee and customer service oriented employer in the Texas Hill Country. Offered great benefits, provided many locations for customer interaction, and responded well to employee and customer concerns.
In recent years, cut employees through many possible means, including heavy reliance on contract labor and terminating longtime employees, to reduce costs to Cooperative on paper and reduce obligation to offer great benefits offered throughout its history. Employees worried or concerned about these trends were not considered to be an issue, and employees were never offered reassurances about such present and future trends that could ultimately affect themselves.
Advice to Management
Management and the Board Of Directors does not solicit nor listen to employee or former employee advice or suggestions in recent years. It also is not responsive to member-owner concerns regarding controversial public comments made by Board Directors. Therefore, no advice would be productive at this time.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Pedernales Electric (Austin, TX).
Interview with department VP and HR . Personal, work experience, project experience were discussed. The process while it took longer than it needed to, was easy and communicated well. The phone screening was basic and straight forward. The in-person interview was actually enjoyable, with both interviewers making a point to keep the interview fun and comfortable . It provided for a good process all the way around.
