Flexible schedule, variety of skills to apply, generally positive customer interactions, ability to relate to regular customers, seasonal merchandise rotations keep the environment dynamic.
Some inability to move up in the organization, lack of increasing hours, small rate increases for hourly employees.
Advice to Management
Be sure to capitalize on the strengths of your employees and definitely continue having accomplished employees mentor new employees. If not done already, compensate your accomplished employees for their return to the company for the training and mentoring of new employees that they provide. Ensure that new employees adhere to the Peebles core value of high customer service and greet each customer in a friendly, welcoming manner and offer assistance in a timely fashion.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Peebles (Ashland, VA) in June 2017.
Incredibly unprofessional. Store manager gave me no time to ask any real questions, but instead talked endlessly about his own experience. He flipped me off for about 45 seconds while saying "when you're number one, you get to do this." Awful interview.
