Mission: Get It Right
I worked at Peerless Industries full-time
Plenty of growth opportunity if you are willing to work hard.
Business in transition, shrinking workforce.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Peerless Industries (Aurora, IL) in August 2017.
Applied online . About 10 days later HR manager called to schedule and onsite interview for the following week. Interview started with a member of the marketing team, who asked various questions from a sheet. The hiring manager joined in within 10 minutes and the two tag teamed behavioral style questions. After about 30 minutes, hiring manager got called into a meeting with the CEO. The other 3 members then joined in and the team asked a variety of questions about management style and my background. At the end of the interview, HR manager was on a call so she couldn't come out to meet me.
The next day, I sent a follow-up to the HR manager with a thank you note to send to the marketing team members since they didn't give business cards when I met with them.
She never responded. About 2 weeks passed and I sent another email and left a voicemail with again no response.
Overall, everyone I met with in-person were very nice and professional. The marketing team has a lot of responsibilities and seemed to manage them well with such a small team. However, I find the lack of response and follow-up from HR to be very unprofessional and a poor representation of the company. I understand that responses can not be made to everyone who applies for a position, but when a candidate is invited for an onsite interview some type of communication to let the person know that you've decided to move forward with other candidates is a simple courtesy.
