We are innovative problem-solvers who believe water is the key for life. We deliver a broad range of smart, sustainable water solutions to homes, business and industry. Whether it’s for fitness & fun, healthier homes, better flood control, safer sky rises, more sustainable ways to farm, or safe drinking water, we won’t stop until the world’s water is managed the best way possible.
We don’t ‘go with the flow.’ It’s our duty to stay ahead of the current because the future of water depends on us.
At Pentair, our work is driven by our belief that the health of our world depends on reliable access to clean water. A deep-rooted culture energizes our employees to make a difference within and beyond the workplace. They do so by delivering innovative technologies and solutions to our customers, pursuing continuous improvement across our operations, supporting our teams and communities, and contributing to our philanthropic work and corporate responsibility initiatives.
As a global company with the people, resources, technology and values to make a positive impact on the health of the world through its smart, sustainable water solutions, our Corporate Responsibility programs focus on exploring ways to make the most of life’s essential resource, by building sustainability into our operations and products, and empowering our employees to become involved in our communities.
At Pentair, success alone is not enough. We seek to win right. These two words embody our drive to achieve, and our dedication to act according to the highest ethical standards.
We build success by following our win right values of customer first, accountability for performance, innovation & adaptability, positive energy, respect & teamwork, and absolute integrity - embraced by every employee. We would rather lose business for the right reasons than win for the wrong reasons.
This commitment both inspires the values that define us and is the result of those values. We believe that who we are is as important as what we do; because who we are defines what we aspire to, how we act and what we achieve.
Six values define the ethical standards that shape how we work individually, together, and with partners:
Customer First – We make it easy for customers to do business with Pentair and are tenacious about meeting customer commitments.
Accountability for Performance – We commit to high standards of performance and demonstrate personal ownership for getting the job done.
Innovation and Adaptability – We actively pursue continuous improvement, adapting to changing circumstances and applying new ideas.
Positive Energy – We display a positive outlook and take responsibility for our impact on others.
Respect and Teamwork – We treat others with respect and openness; we collaborate and align with others for team success.
Absolute Integrity – We are committed to honest and ethical business practices in our dealings with customers, business partners, investors, communities, and each other.

I have been working at Pentair full-time
GREAT work life balance

Good visibility with the c-suite
The new Pentair is based on our win right values and focuses on balancing accountability with empathy for others.
Really great place to start off your career. I've never experienced the coaching and opportunity Pentair offers at other companies.
We are a lean organization, sometimes we run VERY lean.
Advice to Management
Continue to invest in coaching/teaching programs for your employee. Developing employees at a young age for long careers at Pentair.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Pentair (White Bear Lake, Ramsey, MN) in May 2012.
Initially applied for the job online via Pentair's website. Job posting said St. Paul which is perfect for me, but in actuality was in White Bear Lake. Whole process consisted of three interviews, an initial phone interview/screen, an in person interview which was both 1:1 and panel, and then a third interview/meet and greet.
Overall the interview process was average and consisted of mostly background information about myself, but also included some technical knowledge questions. After a period of roughly two weeks I was given an offer. In discussing my initial thoughts about it with the HR Manager, I was told "there's no wiggle room".
After thinking about it over the weekend, I declined the offer with no counter based on the fact I'd been told there's no wiggle room. Not ten minutes later I was called saying "really willing to negotiate and we are very flexible". A little contradicting don't you think.
I had called back twice and left voicemails, but had received no reply for over a week. I then was called by another person who asked for my feedback about the whole interview offer process. I gave both positive and negative feedback and was professional about it. The position was no longer available to me.
A little confusing and unprofessional on their part in offering me the position, saying they'd negotiate, then no correspondence, and then simply asking for feedback saying it's no longer available...
Reasons for Declining
Monetary compensation was much less than expected. Hourly Position. Basically starting at zero with benefits no matter my past. Healthcare was more expensive. 401(k) matching was also much less than my current job. Location of position. Given my experience and education I should have been given much more. Chris twists things around and is very contradictory.
