I have been working at Penton full-time (More than 5 years)
Quite a bit of freedom/autonomy, depending on your direct supervisor and role with the company. Excellent insurance benefits, solid overall compensation package. Outstanding product and service offerings.
No 401k match (although that will change with Informa's acquisition of Penton), support/product teams aren't often aligned with the sales mission.
Advice to Management
Inculcate a culture among support/product teams that emphasizes the critical importance of the sales function, rather than allowing various fiefdoms to act as though sales is an obstacle to be overcome rather than the critical function of revenue generation.
I applied online. I interviewed at Penton (Boulder, CO) in November 2016.
Started out nicely, but then interviewer started asking ridiculous questions, as if she was interviewing a college intern. Condescending, patronizing...questions circled around the business at hand. I had the impression that this person had very little interviewing experience.
