Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Percento Technologies (Houston, TX) in Feb 2012

    Interview

    2 interview process, first was a technical evaluation and second was a meeting with the president.
    Both interviews were pleasant, and focused more on real world application and experience than text book knowledge.
    Overall the entire process was very professional, expectations were set in the beginning and Percento was very transparent. I really got the feeling they wanted to make sure they were a good fit for me, like I was going to be for them.
