    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PetSmart Charities (Phoenix, AZ) in January 2018.

    Interview

The first interview was over the phone with a senior recruiter. I made it to the second interview a week later, which was also over the phone, but with the organization's COO. I received an email and a phone call letting me know that I made it to the third and final round of interviews for the position. This last interview was in person at PetSmart's Home Office. The interview last 3.5 hours and consisted of meeting with 4 separate PetSmart Charities employees.

All of the interviews went great, and I had a positive experience with each of the employees that I met with. It seemed like I would be a great fit within the organization, and I got the impression that they thought I would be a good fit as well. Their description of the workplace culture was one that I aligned with, and I was excited at this new career prospect. I was promised to be contacted within a week of the final interview to let me know if I got the job.

After a week of waiting for a phone call or email, I emailed the recruiter to follow-up. She never responded. I then emailed the COO of the organization a couple of days later asking for some feedback, and she too never responded. It has now been over 3 weeks with no response.

While they clearly showed through their actions that they are not the type of culture or organization that I would like to share my talents with due to their lack of accountability, professionalism, and responsiveness, I was disappointed to have put in the time, effort and heart to only have been blown off. As an experienced leader and manager, I was astounded by this lack of courtesy. The least they could have done was send me a quick email to let me know I was not chosen for the position.

I am not one to normally write reviews such as these, but I want other job-seekers to be aware of my experience with PetSmart Charities. Thank you for your time.
