Mission: Every day with every connection, PetSmart’s passionate associates help bring pet parents closer to their pets so they can live more fulfilled lives.
#LifeatPetSmart means believing every pet deserves a holiday present! This holiday season, pet parents and associates at PetSmart have donated more than a million stuffed animals across North America for donations to local pet adoption agencies. Our goal is 2 million donations (stay tuned for an update soon!) http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQhrq
Last month, PetSmart Charities granted Smoky Mountain Service Dogs a $64,000 grant to support their mission to improve veterans and their families lives by providing them with service dogs. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQhrr
Home sweet home office. We take to heart our mission statement: for the love of pets. Every decision we make impacts the lives of pets far and wide, so pets are high on our agenda. Our amenities and events at our Home Office are developed with our two- and four-legged associates in mind. We’ve even created a pet-friendly campus, so you'll share office space with some of the cutest and most inspirational creatures around. And, thanks to our career development programs, you’ll be able to truly unleash your potential.
Cold noses, hot technology. As a thriving, fast-growing online provider of pet supplies and care information, PetSmart is the place to make the most of your mad tech skills and happy-go-lucky personality. Approximately one-fourth of our home office is composed of IT pros—top talent in customer-engagement technology, modern stack development, React Native, ReactJS, Salesforce APEX and more. Challenge your skills and work with paw-some technology at PetSmart.
Do what you do best: Live out your love for pets every day by working in one of our 1,600 stores or 7 distribution centers. Find happiness in store as part of our retail team, be it advising pet parents about our products or services, or as a talented pro at one of our salons or PetsHotels. Deliver happiness by working in one of our distribution centers by ensuring products and solutions are distributed to pet parents as quickly as possible. Whatever you choose, you can expect the whole package: a fun environment, the training to do your job well, and the opportunity to grow your career.
Our independent nonprofit PetSmart Charities organization has granted more money—more than $310 million—to helping pets in need than any other animal welfare group in North America. As of 2018, we’ve found homes for more than 8 million pets in need with the help of over 3,500 local animal welfare partners, funded over 1.7 million spay and neuter surgeries to date to prevent unwanted litters, and provided $10 million in emergency relief funding to provide assistance for pets affected by event of a natural disaster. We’re incredibly proud of what we do.
I have been working at PetSmart full-time (More than a year)
The culture of the organization is what attracted me to the company and why I continue to stay. The purchase of Chewy.com in May 2017 was a very strategic addition combining the largest brick and mortar and online pet specialty in one company (yes, Chewy.com is bigger than Amazon in this space!) I have worked here for two years and the change in the Senior leadership from August 2017 to March 2018 has made a significant and positive impact. The new CEO that started in June 2018 has a great background and seems to be very personable. Very excited about the future of PetSmart along with Chewy under the new CEO. The campus has day care, gym, on-site café, Starbucks, shipping center, dry cleaning drop off/pick up - great amenities!
Just like any other organization, it is not perfect. However, the best place I have worked.
Advice to Management
Continue working together to create the strategy and aligning organizational goals to all levels. Morale has continued to improve over the past year and the transparency to employees is good - keep it going.
The process took 2 days. I interviewed at PetSmart (Tulsa, OK) in August 2017.
If you apply set aside time for the application process. Some of the information may pull from your resume, but not all. Be sure to double check it. Also you will take a personality/sjt test that may take some time. Interview was easy and fun, more like a conversation than and interview. I would say this is the best interview I have been on as far as comfortability is concerned.
