I have been working at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman full-time (More than 3 years)
Lots of responsibility early on; work is usually interesting; firm culture is laid back and open (at least in the San Francisco office, don't know about other offices); overall better work life balance than many large firms, partners and associates actually have families (and see them).
Work can at times be overwhelming, although you'll find that at any big law firm. Bonus structure keeps changing, usually is below market. There are a few partners to be avoided, but again, you'll find that anywhere.
Advice to Management
Take the high cost of living in San Francisco into account when considering bonus amounts by geography. Focus on developing opportunities for associates inside and outside the firm.
I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman (New York, NY) in August 2015.
First, there was a screening interview with the director of hiring. Then there were callback interviews with 4 attorneys. Thereafter, there was a reception with associates. The offer occurred during a phone call, two days later.
