    Pros

Many are very happy and optimistic. Pay is decent at first.

    Cons

Some are very unhappy and stuck. Luck more than effort seems to determine career advancement. City residency required for non-union positions.

    Application

The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Pittsburgh Public Schools.

    Interview

Competitive, have to be placed on a list for subject area. Many people apply for these positions. Very hard to get an interview. People will pass you on list for graduating from a city school even if they applied after you.
