Mission: Our mission is to transform the manufacturing industry with our products and services, leading to the happiest ERP customers in history
Customer success is the lifeblood of our business. Our decisions and actions always consider the best interests of our customers.
Engaged, passionate team members and giving back are cornerstones of Plex. To attract, develop and retain the best talent, we ensure work is challenging, fulfilling and interesting.
Plex was born through innovation on the shop floor. We are challenging the status quo and setting the new standard for manufacturing ERP.
We expect transparent communication and professionalism through every interaction. We honor our commitments and value work that is done with the highest level of excellence.
We run Plex to create long-term shareholder value. Honoring shareholder commitments allows us to continue to invest in our customers, team members, company, and community.
People do amazing things every day. Every quarter in our Company Meetings, we recognize top performers who demonstrate the behaviors and skills we value. The executive team presents Plex Impact Awards for significant achievements in the following categories:
We can open up the nomination program so everyone at Plex can participate in this important recognition program.
At the end of the sales year, we hold an awards banquet to acknowledge those Sales and Marketing employees who met or exceeded their annual quotas. In addition to winning awards, winners are also invited to attend Plex Elite, an all-expenses paid trip to a fabulous (usually tropical) destination.
We have taken the tradition idea of a "suggestion box" and re-invented it as an ideation contest. This is where employees' voice and ideas will be heard, and also a place to read and vote on other people's ideas. This is about innovation, which is one of our core values at Plex. We encourage employees to be creative with their ideas, while putting thought into how it will provide Plex, customers, employees and partners value. All ideas are welcomed and all submissions are reviewed. The ideas with the most votes will be selected for a grand prize. This year, the winner was awarded $1,000 cash prize and employee recognition.
When You Give, We Give. This past year, Plexians contributed to multiple charities and organizations that they care about. Plex matched donations to more than 18 non-profit groups.
We feel that giving back shouldn't be just a one-time gesture; it should be a continuous partnership that grows over time. We established the Plex Giving Program to do just that - to rally our employees around a specific cause or community organization on an annual basis. Since 2007, Plex Giving has partnered with organizations like Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Gleaners Community Food Bank, Humane Society of Monroe County, Make-a-Wish Michigan, St. Clair Butterfly Foundation and this year's partner the National 4-H Council. Fundraising activities include pancake breakfasts with Plex executives as celebrity chefs, wine tastings, silent auctions and employee donation matching.
Plex has taken a thoughtful approach to our giving program by supporting local and global initiatives that align to where employees live and work. One employee's efforts to raise money for the Flint Water Crisis is a great example of the types of causes where Plex wants to help. Initially, the Plexian created a GoFundMe account to raise $2,000 to bring safe, clean drinking water to people of Flint, MI. His efforts along with the community and many members of the Plex team raised almost $10,000. Plex matched the money raised, resulting in a $20,000 total donation.
Generous benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, 401(k) matching program, Paid Vacation/Holidays, all within a flexible work environment.
We will support you in pursuing the training and certifications that are right for you. Here are three types of continuing education the Plex offers reimbursement for:
Plex will provide an annual Live Well Reimbursement to help you stay energized, refreshed, and ready to tackle what comes your way. The idea is to get, or stay, fit and also take some time to unwind. We're not going to prescribe what helps you Live Well, but here's some ideas:
Our multiple locations offer a casual-dress workplace, complimentary food and drinks, and "de-stress areas" complete with video games and ping pong tables.
It's Plex employees themselves who say the company is a great place to work. We inspire the passion of workers and unleash their talent. We are proud to be recognized as one of the top workplaces in the tech industry. Below are just some of some of the awards Plex has received:
A Consecutive top 100 Workplace from 2009 to 2016. Honored as an employer whose employees expressed satisfaction with their workplace whether because of pay and benefits, advancement opportunities, flexibility of schedules or other advantages.
A Metro Detroit winner from 2009 to 2016, reaching Elite status in three of those years.
The National Association of Business Resources (NABR) identified and awarded Plex for striving for a high level of employee satisfaction.
Great Lakes IT Report named Plex as one of the 10 Companies Making a Difference in Technology.
Corp! Magazine award presented to Plex in 2010, 2011, and 2013 based on growth, workplace culture, community support and job opportunities.
Forbes says, "employees are most recommending Plex Systems to their friends interested in working at an enterprise cloud computing startup."
I have been working at Plex Systems, Inc. full-time
I have been at Plex for a few years now and I am still as excited about working for Plex as I was the day I started. Yes Plex is experiencing growing pains, yes some mistakes have been made. However, I have never seen a corporate team so determined to find and fix the issues that are affecting the employees. Plex is continuously implementing and improving programs to improve employee satisfaction, a topic taken quite literally.
I usually don't review a company while I'm still work there but when I see some of the incorrect statements and outright lies coming in some of these reviews from employees that have been terminated, I felt I had to get my opinion out there.
If you ask me, the biggest drain on the company right now is the attitude of many of the "old guard" that have been around since Plex was a small fledgling company. Yes when the company was smaller all employees had a say in more decisions and sure the culture was more relaxed. What they need to understand though, is that even though Plex has grown considerably and even if some of the "culture" has changed it is still so much better than a lot of companies out there.
When the free candy, snacks and lunch items were moved from the individual floors to the 15th floor, there was a big uproar about culture change. Having come from a company that merely supplied coffee to the employees, I'm happy to go up a few flights to get my free chips and candy bar. Oh yeah and maybe play a game of pool or air hockey while I'm there.
Compared to all of the companies I have work for in the past, Plex is a great place to work.
Advice to Management
Continue on the path you are on. Your dedication to your employee satisfaction is admirable.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Plex Systems, Inc. (Troy, MI) in January 2015.
The first interview was with a recruiter. She was very helpful and polite. I was asked basic questions about my resume and work experience. Second interview I scheduled with the hiring manager. I was asked more in depth questions and told that I would need additional interviews. Later that day I was offered the position. Overall the process was extremely efficient and professional.
