Mission: Powering the modern relationship between businesses and customers.
Podium is a Utah-based software company that helps businesses make interaction with consumers simple and convenient by focusing on familiar communication channels they already use. Increased interaction makes businesses more visible, improves business operations, and drives purchase decisions.
Podium has a great culture that stems from the people who help build an amazing product and company, every single day. We’re looking for smart, technologically-passionate individuals who want to make a difference in how businesses communicate and gather feedback and reviews. If you match our description, we’d love to talk.
We don’t just talk about our values at Podium, we live them. Our values are present in everything we do. When we’re looking for new employees we want them to have the following characteristics.
Treat your work like a startup within a startup. Never settle. Be optimistic, passionate, and efficient as hell.
Communicate clearly. Own your failures and successes. Give constructive feedback. Be honest with yourself and others. Seek self-awareness.
We have zero tolerance for politics, drama and passive aggressive behavior.
Everything we do is for our customer. Always do what is in the best interest of our (collective) customers and find unique ways to surprise and delight them.
Things move fast at Podium. Make sure to have fun and laugh along the way. Take your work seriously, but not yourself.
Podium offers its employees competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage that rivals or even surpasses many tech companies on the Silicon Slopes.
Podium has partnered with Educators Mutual Insurance to offer a premium healthcare package that includes matching contributions into a health savings account.
Podium offers unlimited vacation days, so if you need some time off, take it. We know that the grind of working at a startup can be hard and sometimes you need a break to refresh the batteries.
Every weekend the Person of the Week at Podium gets free reign over one of the company’s two Teslas.
In the early days of the company, we frequently celebrated Wing Wednesday. While we might not eat wings every week, we still provide our employees with lunch every Wednesday.
Do you like to hit it hard on the weekend? Don’t worry because every Monday each employee gets a smoothie to ensure they start the week off on the right foot.
I have been working at Podium full-time (Less than a year)
I've actually worked for some other great tech companies in Utah that generate a lot of buzz and are overall really good companies to work for. For me, Podium has been by far the best!
I've never seen a leadership team so invested and actually care about the people that work for them the way that the current management team does.
I think the way that the executive team focuses on transparency and keeping in touch with their employees has created a culture that most people here work hard and work together - in every department.
The company is growing a lot and so it keeps us moving at a fast pace. I think it is actually a good thing that we've been okay to pivot and change direction - these decisions show me that we're willing to do what's right.
Advice to Management
Keep staying "grounded" and showing you care about employees - it goes a long way and I think you're doing an excellent job!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Podium (Lehi, UT) in September 2018.
The process was quick and smooth. I was given a timed take-home test that involved multiple choice and coding questions. Once I completed that, I had a phone call with one of the team leads which covered mostly experience and a review of the code challenge. Then I was given another take-home project that involved creating 2 separate applications (one front end and one backend), which I then had to present in a series of back-to-back onsite interviews with the majority of engineering leadership. A day later I was contacted by the CTO who asked a few final questions and then made an offer.
