    Assembly Technician Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Portescap (West Chester, PA) in June 2014.

    Interview

After filing my application onsite, I received a call about two weeks later from the HR representative asking to schedule an interview. The interview was pretty painless. I met with the HR person and the supervising manager for the position. I was asked general questions about problem solving, communication with peers, and prioritizing. And was then asked to take a simple math test involving percentages, decimals, and fractions. All in all, the interview was a pleasant experience.

    Interview Questions

    • This was my first technical, hands-on position, so the most difficult question was explaining how I thought my past job experiences translated over to the position being offered.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

I was given an offer, and was not given room to negotiate. If you have technical experience, you may have some room, but everyone pretty much starts out at the same rate.
