I worked at Portola Packaging full-time
Clean plant and nice office setting. Managers and supervisors are pretty solid for the most part. The manufacturing site is in a good setting in Batavia with restaurants fairly close and a park about a mile down the street.
Some leadership changes on the GM side. Upper management also completely turned over when I was there. They lost some good leaders. At that time, is was managed by a private equity company. It has since been sold to a company in the plastics closures industry. That is probably good for the employees as the owners likely understand the business and product better than the last owners.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Portola Packaging (Kingsport, TN) in June 2010.
Detailed and efficient.
