I have been working at Ports America full-time

    Pros

Ports America is very employee focused. They make obvious attempts to appreciate their employees for hard-work.

    Cons

A lot of voluntary turn-over in upper management. As someone who is early in their career, it is discouraging to see and gives the impression that there is nowhere to go above the Director level. Trying to identify a career path is also difficult and requires a lot of individual research.

    Advice to Management

Focus on raising up the next generation of management within the organization. Identify employees who are hungry for growth (it should be obvious) and feed that hunger. Allow opportunities for individuals to cultivate skills that are necessary for management and provide them a path forward.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Ports America.

    Interview

Received 2 phone calls, one from a "talent acquisition manager" and one from an HR representative. Both calls consisted of a phone screen. I was told they would want me to come in for an in person interview. Both showed interest but neither one ever followed up, even after I called and emailed them. If a company shows interest in a potential job candidate, leads them on, then ceases all communication, then it reflects poorly on the them. If they're this disrespectful in the interview process, imagine what working for this company would be like.
