August 16th was National Tell a Joke Day! Colorful jokes scribbled on post-it notes filled our white board, and Joy chose the winner. Raj, one of our amazing Sales Reps, won a $50 prize for telling the best joke! Way to go, Raj! We are still laughing over his joke over here... ;-)

Joy Gendusa founded PostcardMania – a postcard marketing company (and the first of its kind) – in 1998. At the time, her only assets were a computer, a phone, her innate marketing savvy, and maybe a pocketful of dreams.
Prior to Joy’s brainstorm and PostcardMania’s grand entrance to the marketplace, business owners had to either, 1) pay ad agencies dearly for marketing advice (and then pay a markup on the actual postcards) or 2) use commercial printers to save on printing costs (but forfeit the marketing know-how that makes the campaign actually work). Plus, even cheap postcards were EX-PEN-SIVE. Like, 5,000 postcards cost you $1,400. Crazytown.
Joy thought that marketing advice should be FREE and that full color postcards should be WAY more affordable for everyday business owners. She also yearned for a place to work where it was actually fun and there were no office politics. So she started PostcardMania and the rest is history...

We are a full-service postcard direct-mail marketing company. Our services include graphic design, printing, mailing-list acquisition, mailing services, web services, Google advertising and more, in addition to a wealth of free marketing advice. We help small businesses all over the country to expand through the use of direct mail marketing techniques.
The Way We Work
We have a very "hands on" approach to doing business with our clients. Each department cares sincerely that their direct mail marketing campaign gets the client great results.
Everyone here from reception to sales and delivery personnel are trained in marketing to ensure they help contribute to our clients getting the best results. We offer in house training that is delivered during paid work hours, to help our employees deliver the best service to our clients.

First and foremost, PostcardMania is a collection of incredible Maniacs – we’re a team. We’re an “all hands on deck,” all tug on the same side of the rope, everyone’s responsible for creating an eye-poppingly successful company, Top Tampa Bay Workplace five years running… kind of place. We work industriously and efficiently, but also keep it really real. And fun.
But don’t let our chill tone and effortless cool fool you – working here is no walk in the park! We only hire people who take pride in a job well done. We only hire people who aren’t afraid of a little mental (or physical) elbow grease. We’re not interested in the “entitled” class.

What is needed and required is someone ambitious, aggressive and not afraid to ask for the money to close the deal, (excuse our language) someone who is KICK A#$ (Glassdoor wouldn't less us say A#$, sorry!). If you fit all that, you don't necessarily need a lot of sales experience, but are passionate to learn and advance to making $80k per year (our top rep actually made $143,058 last year but she's been here for 11 years and started with no sales experience, in fact she was only 21 years old at the time).

I have been working at PostcardMania full-time (More than a year)
I love working at PCM. It's the best place I have ever worked. I'm not sure I have enough space here to write all the things I like about working here, so I'll just name a few of the big ones:
-Everyone has positive, upbeat attitudes. This is huge for me, since I came from a company that was the opposite. I love not dreading going to work every day. My co-workers aren't really my co-workers anymore; they're friends and I enjoy being here with them.
-Everyone works hard and really cares for their clients.
-We also play hard. There's always something fun going on, like ping pong or basketball or corn hole to allow people to chill out for a little bit. Not to mention the fun dress up days and contests and fun things HR hosts for holidays. It really makes all of our hard work worth it.
-The cafe is so convenient an d has great options, especially if you're health-conscious, which brings me to my next point:
-PCM really focuses on health. We have yoga classes twice a week, discounts to gyms and cross fit gyms in the area, healthy food options, rewards for working out in the form of lower insurance payments, a locker room so you can shower after you work out, etc. It makes being a healthy desk jockey feasible.
-To address other remarks I've seen regarding the Hubbard Management System and Scientology, yes, we use the Hubbard Management System here, and we do have to go on course, but there are zero discussions about religion here, be it Scientology or otherwise. Everyone that works hard has the same opportunity to grow within the company, regardless of their religious affiliation. I'm not a part of the church, but I've been promoted and I make really great money. So if you have any hang ups about PCM utilizing the Hubbard Management System, forget them. Seriously.
I could go on, but I think you get the point. PCM is amazing, and I'm a proud Maniac.
Not super crazy about having to go to course, but only because I would really rather be working and making sure my clients are being taken care of. I will say that the courses are actually really relevant to my job and have helped me become more efficient so there is that. Not really much of a con, to be honest, but it's the only thing I can think of.
Advice to Management
Don't go changin'! PCM is wonderful.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at PostcardMania (Clearwater, FL) in October 2017.
Short 10-15 minute phone interview first, then if they like you enough they schedule you for an in person interview. Heads up, make sure you have a few hours to spare for the in person, I interviewed with three people and took a personality type test, IQ, words per minute typing, and excel test. All in all, took about three hours. Was very nerve wracking because I didn't know about these tests beforehand, but the interviewers were very reassuring that they don't base hiring off of just those tests, they just like to use them to see where you are. Fairly informal, more like having conversations with them instead of strict, uncomfortable interviewing. If you pass those stages, you'll get called in for a final interview, mine was with Jill Carey, the COO, who was super nice (and not at all intimidating). After our brief interview, she offered me the job on the spot. Definitely the most in-depth interview process I had, but went very quickly. I had my phone interview on a Wednesday, my first in person on that same Friday, and my last on the following Monday (and I started on that Thursday).
