I have been working at Praxair Distribution full-time (More than 10 years)
A financially solid company. Considering their mechanical approach to business they have a financially successful future.
You will never be part of a family. There is a great amount of tension between sales and operations. The ops people are always on the defensive and the sales people are an arrogant group of people who are always on the attack. Upper management seems to condone the tense environment. Whenever they get a good upper level manager, they let him go when there are opportunities for cutbacks. If you are labor or management, don't plan on any loyalty from the company.
Advice to Management
Be loyal and respectful to your employees. In todays corporate environment, try to be human beings and not be so quick to get of of your talent.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Praxair Distribution (Hahnville, LA) in April 2015.
Very nice and friendly people who did the interview. I found that they really cared about the safety of their employees and the leadership support towards it, as they really focused their interview on it by asking for many different answers to different scenario.
