I have been working at Praxair (More than a year)
Great job security and stability. Good potential for advancement. Benefits are competitive 401k with company match. 2 weeks off your first full year.
Company seems to operate so lean that sometimes leads to shooting themselves in the foot. My local branch has one person in store- the branch manager who is way over loaded. And 2 truck drivers.... we do between 4-5 million dollars a year. Workload is unrealistic.
Advice to Management
Hire an appropriate amount of staff at Branches.
The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Praxair (Danbury, CT).
If I knew what kind of wasted energy and time I would devote to the interview process then I would have declined their invitations. I was contacted by their internal recruiter and the entire process from beginning to end was pointless. I had 2-3 phone interviews before asked to visit their office. At the over 4-hour in-person interview, I spoke with 4 interviewers, completed 2 Excel tests (one of which was provided to me by mistake), and never even received a courtesy rejection phone call or email.
