I’ve been making things look like nice on the web since 2003, and for Prelude Services and our clients since 2011. When I interviewed with Prelude, first over the phone and later in person, I was impressed with the thoroughness of the questions I was asked and the level of skill and knowledge that was demonstrated and expected that I should have. Prelude hires people who know what they’re doing, and I see that in the interactions I have every day with the people I work with here.

Having worked for large corporations in the past, I can say I enjoy much more the culture here at Prelude. Our smaller size means there are no unknown faces here; you’ll have a chance to work with and get to know almost everyone at some point. It also means that growth is encouraged; I’ve learned a lot since I came to Prelude and am still learning new things all the time!

You get to discover the parts of your job that you enjoy, and find a career path that is right for you. After working on the Helpdesk for three years supporting end users, I knew my calling was application support, and accepted a position as an Application Analyst.

As an Application Analyst, I assist in implementing, upgrading, and supporting applications relating to patient care. Each day brings new and exciting challenges. Why are these challenges exciting? I am constantly learning about new processes, procedures, and new applications. I get to work directly with our clients, building relationships with our users. I get to discover each day how our clients are using their applications, and help them find the best solutions to the issues they are seeing.

There’s a wonderful feeling you get when you hear someone exclaim “You fixed it!”.

My advice to people who want to work here?

Our Human Resources department is wonderful about following up with applicants. Be prepared if you get an interview to be positive, friendly and sincere. Remember, a smile goes a long way!

Prelude offers an employer match of 50% up to 8% of your total contribution.

    I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Prelude Services (Mechanicsburg, PA) in August 2015.


    I interviewed with the director of human resources and the director of the help desk separately. There were 4 total sessions - with each party on the phone, then with each party face to face. The interview was held in a large, empty conference room. After the interview, I sat with a current employee in the call center to get a feel for the nature of the work. The HR manager asked me a few questions for which I was unprepared. The help desk manager only asked me one question about my technical background and job skills - he mostly was focused on whether or not I would be willing to do the job and not be a flight risk.
