Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

ConsThe leadership team does not really understand nor have any experience in running a business and what's most important to the merchant. Everything is trial & error and we will learn from our mistakes

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at PrestaShop (United Kingdom) in Jan 2023
InterviewThe Prestashop career section leads to the website welcometothejungle. I was surprised the entire job description was only in French for a saas company going global. Once you decide to apply, you can connect your Linkedin profile, which is a great idea and frictionless. I quickly got an email to decline my application. I wondered why, as I genuinely believed my profile was the perfect match. Unfortunately, it appears that Prestashop received a blank application. So the Linkedin connection tool didn't seem to work. I eventually had an interview, and the Prestashop role and culture seemed quite fine; however, when we discussed salary, I got baffled by the compensation offered for this role. It was, IMO, terribly low, especially for a saas with the ambitions they have for the future. After this screening call, I never heard back from them. So I believe the compensation talk was a deal breaker on both ends.Interview
